Professional Pool Plaster Resurfacing
Restore Your Oasis with Master-Crafted Pool Resurfacing
Experience the Difference of a Precision Chipped Finish & National Plaster Council Standards.
Is your pool losing its luster in Chester, Monroe, NY or surrounding area? At The Backyard Bosses, we specialize in transforming aged, rough, or stained pool interiors into smooth, vibrant masterpieces. We don’t just "cover up" old problems—we rebuild your pool’s surface from the gunite up.
Our Premium Finishing Options
We offer two distinct levels of resurfacing to meet your aesthetic and durability needs:
- Marcite Resurfacing: The classic industry standard. A beautiful, smooth, and cost-effective white plaster finish.
- Diamond Brite™ Resurfacing:
Our high-performance upgrade. This factory-blended finish combines natural quartz aggregates with polymer-modified cement. Diamond Brite™ is exceptionally durable, slip-resistant, and available in a variety of stunning colors that won't fade.
The Backyard Bosses 10-Step Professional Process
We take pride in a level of prep work that most competitors skip.
- Step 1: Diagnostic Assessment – We identify signs of failure, such as etching (pitting) or webbing (fine cracks), to ensure your pool is a candidate for resurfacing.
- Step 2: Material Selection – Choose between Marcite or Diamond Brite™.
- Step 3: Safe Drainage & Hydrostatic Management – We manage groundwater pressure to prevent your pool from "popping" out of the ground—a catastrophic risk that only pros like us can mitigate.
- Step 4: Precision Tile Undercut – We grind grout joints and chip 2 inches below the tile line for a clean, seamless transition between your new plaster and your tile.
- Step 5: The Full Chip-Out (The "Boss" Difference) – Unlike others who use a "bond coat" (a lacquer glue), we chip away the entire old plaster layer to expose the raw gunite. This ensures the new plaster bonds permanently.
- Step 6: Debris Removal & Acid Wash – A thorough cleaning to ensure a pristine surface for adhesion.
- Step 7: Application & Light Acid Wash – We apply your finish in a single day, followed by a very, very, very light diluted acid wash to expose the beauty of the material.
- Step 8: Water Truck Delivery – To protect your investment, we deliver clean water ($400–$700 per 6,000-gallon truck). Tap water often contains iron that stains new plaster immediately; our water prevents rust and brown staining.
- Step 9: Reassembly – We reinstall all fittings and restart your filtration equipment.
- Step 10: Optional Curing & Chemical Regimen – (Highly Recommended) New plaster requires a 14-day curing process with twice-daily brushing (nylon bristles only) and strict chemical monitoring to National Plaster Council standards. Note: DIY curing voids the 1-year warranty.
